On January 2, 2022, we held our first music sharing session of the new year, A Date with Chen Jia. We spent a delightful and warm afternoon with Ms. Chen Jia. Hosted by Ms. Ou Manli, a well-known host from Xiaolan, Zhongshan, this sharing event took the form of an interview.

The opening session featured Shengya CD-3.8, CV-3 and PSM-368 paired with B&W loudspeakers, playing a selection of tracks from Chen Jia’s albums, including Alone Up the West Tower and Boat Song.

Chen Jia shared that her latest Cantonese album Old Friends Return, released on the eve of New Year’s Day, was a New Year gift for her fans. She also shared behind-the-scenes clips and stories about the making of this new record.

When the host asked, “Some say you are always imitating Miss Teresa Teng. What do you think about it?” Chen Jia replied: “Teresa Teng has remained so popular for a reason. I will carry forward her strengths and develop my own vocal identity. In the past, the focus was on whether I sounded like her; now, it is on whether I sing well.”

Chen Jia also talked about her collaboration journey with Shengya. She mentioned that she had visited Shengya many times, and each time she came, she could see new progress and changes. Aligning with Shengya’s philosophy, she was delighted to accept the role as Shengya’s brand ambassador.

Chen Jia also performed several songs live, including Tomorrow’s Talk for Today, A Thousand Songs, and Every Step.

Chen Jia interacted with fans on site and sang her songs together with them.

She even led the whole audience in singing Sweet Honey together, creating a wonderful lively atmosphere.

Chen Jia also signed autographs and took photos with fans as keepsakes.

Lastly, we wish everyone a Happy New Year! May the new year bring you new hopes!
